What Solar & Shine Actually Is
Customer-facing explainer — Gbé ga Solar & Window Care One visit. Whole-home shine.
The short version
Solar & Shine is both services in a single appointment — your panels and all your exterior glass, done in one morning, by one person, with one setup.
It exists for two reasons. One is obvious: you only give up one morning instead of two. The other is the one most homeowners never think about, and it's the more important of the two.
There's a right order, and it only works if it's one visit
Panels are on the roof. Glass is below them.
When we wash an array, the runoff carries months of accumulated dust, pollen, and bird droppings down the roof plane, off the eaves, and onto whatever is underneath — which is very often the windows you just paid someone to clean.
So the order matters:
Panels first, glass second. Always. Everything that comes off the roof lands before the windows are touched, and then the windows get done clean.
If you book two separate companies, or the same company on two different days, you're gambling on that sequence. Do the windows Tuesday and the panels Thursday, and Thursday's runoff spots Tuesday's work. Nobody tells you that, because the window company isn't there on Thursday to see it.
There's a second sequencing reason. Panels shouldn't be cleaned on hot glass — cold water on a superheated panel is a thermal shock risk, so the array has to be done early, while it's still cool. Windows don't have that constraint. Stacking them into one visit means each job happens at the hour that's actually right for it, rather than whenever the calendar happened to land.
Why it costs less than booking them separately
The savings aren't a marketing discount. They're real costs that only happen once:
-
One trip to your property instead of two
-
One setup and breakdown of the purification system, tanks, hoses, and poles
-
One water source connection and one tank fill
-
One block of drive time across a service area that spans three valleys
The same four-stage reverse-osmosis and deionization system that produces the water for your panels produces the water for your glass. It's already running, already metered, already parked in your driveway. Adding the second service costs a fraction of what a second visit would.
What a Solar & Shine morning looks like
We arrive early. Panels get cleaned while the array is cool.
The array first. We photograph it as we found it, verify our purified water on the meter, soft wash with a soft-bristle brush and no soap or pressure, rinse spot-free, and inspect every panel while we're up close — cracked or clouding glass, corrosion, loose racking, pest nesting under the array, new shading. We never walk on your panels.
Then the exterior glass. Cobwebs and frames cleared, tracks vacuumed dry before anything gets wet, weep holes cleared, glass cleaned with purified water, frames and sills wiped, glide checked and lubricated, screens cleaned and reinstalled dry, spot-free finish. Every window inspected for cracks, hard-water etching, screen condition, seal failure, and drainage.
Then we walk both with you. The array and the glass, together. Anything you point out gets corrected before we leave.
Then you get the paperwork. Two reports — one for the panels, one for the windows — with before-and-after photos on both, condition notes on anything worth watching, and your recommended next-service dates.
Add screens, skylights, or anything else you want handled and it gets finished on the same visit, to the same purified-water standard. Nothing gets scheduled for "next time."
What's included from each side
From Solar Care: full array cleaning, purified-water verification, panel-by-panel visual inspection, before-and-after photos, written condition report, next-service date.
From Crystal Shine: exterior glass, frames, sills, tracks, weep holes, glide, screens, purified-water finish, window-by-window condition inspection, before-and-after photos, written report, next-service date.
Nothing is reduced or abbreviated because it's bundled. It's both services, complete, on one day.
What we never do
-
Never walk on your panels
-
Never pressure wash panels or windows
-
Never use tap water, soaps, solvents, or abrasive pads
-
Never clean an array in the heat of the afternoon
-
Never do the glass before the roof
-
Never perform electrical, roofing, or glazing repairs — we document and refer
What we need from you
-
Access to an outdoor spigot
-
Gates unlocked, pets inside
-
Vehicles moved clear of the array and the windows
-
Patio furniture and planters pulled back from the glass where you can
You don't need to be home for the work. Most customers like being there for the walkthrough at the end, and that's usually the most useful ten minutes of the visit.
Plan on a longer window than a single service — this is a real morning of work on most properties, and we'd rather tell you that up front than rush either half of it.
How often
Panels and glass want the same rhythm here, which is part of why they pair well.
Twice a year for most homes — once after the spring winds, once after monsoon season.
Four times a year if you're ag-adjacent, on or near a dirt road, under trees or heavy bird activity, or running sprinklers and misters that hit the glass.
Either plan can cover both services. We'll tell you honestly which one your property needs after we've seen it.
The honest bottom line
Combining isn't just convenient. It's the sequence the work actually wants, done at the hours each job actually needs, by one person who sees the whole property and can tell you what's changed since last time.
